July 3, 2023 - Summer Opportunities

Summer offers a welcome break for many of us and time to enjoy what the season has to offer. This is also the time of year when support for the nonprofit community sees a summer slide; while they see demand for their services going up.

We at the United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha & Pierce Counties saw this as an opportunity and thought we could hold a Summer Raffle to offer our assistance.

Thanks to generous support, one Grand Prize winner will receive a pair of Ebikes. We also will be raffling away other outdoorsy packages too. Tickets are $25.00 and will be available next week. Stop by our office to get your tickets or visit Red Wing Bicycle Company to buy them there.

And while there is still plenty of summer ahead of us, we will be getting ready to Stuff the Bus with supplies that our students and classrooms need for the next school year. Consider joining us at the RW Aces game in a few weeks.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Are you a party planner? Do you love planning social events and getting friends together? This is the committee for you! Meet once or twice a month with like-minded people to help plan and manage United Way Fund Raising and Community Events. Great way to learn about United Way and it's work without the commitment to being a board member. Sign up for the entire year or just for the events you want to be a part of. Light Office Work/ Data Entry - Are you looking to help one or two hours per eweek? Do you like computers work? We need someone who can come into the office one morning per week to do some data entry and light filing. Will train on any software necessary, flexible scheduling. STUFF THE BUS School Supply Drive Team Members - Does the smell of a new box of crayons make you weak in the knees with happiness? Then this team is for you. Help United Way staff plan and implement our annual school supply drive, packing night and backpack give away. Work begins in July and ends in August.
