July 17, 2023 - Let's Help Create Success

July 17, 2023

In between summer’s activities back-to-school shopping season has begun. It is exciting to see businesses, our community organizations, and individuals getting involved in our annual Stuff the Bus school drive campaign.

The new school year is an opportunity for new beginnings and for students to get a fresh start. United Way’s Stuff the Bus provides us with an opportunity to support students as they gear up for the school year ahead.

By helping our students get the necessary school supplies we allow students to fully participate in school learning, boost creativity and enhance their well-being. Studies also show if students have the tools needed to learn, it changes behaviors and promotes healthy attitudes about school.

We know that for many back to school shopping can be a high stressor and collectively we can help lessen the financial burden.

Tomorrow night, we invite you to help us kick off our Stuff the Bus campaign and join us for some fun at the Red Wing Aces baseball game.

We encourage you to bring school supplies and welcome all donations. Our board members will happily take your orders at the concession stand and staff will have information, give-aways to share, and summer raffle tickets on hand.

Our Stuff the Bus campaign is just starting and will run until Friday, August 11th. We will continue to collect supplies and donations until then. See donations sites below.

We appreciate all of your support!

Volunteer Opportunities

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Are you a party planner? Do you love planning social events and getting friends together? This is the committee for you! Meet once or twice a month with like-minded people to help plan and manage United Way Fund Raising and Community Events. Great way to learn about United Way and it's work without the commitment to being a board member. Sign up for the entire year or just for the events you want to be a part of. Call Alexa at 651-388-6309 or email at abjornstad@unitedwaygwp.org

Light Office Work/ Data Entry - Are you looking to help one or two hours per week? Do you like computers work? We need someone who can come into the office one morning per week to do some data entry and light filing. Will train on any software necessary, flexible scheduling. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, call Stacy at 651-388-66309 or email scoyle@unitedwaygwp.org
